I’ve been reading 7 Women and the Secret to their Greatness by Eric Metaxas and found Mother Teresa’s reasoning on the issue very compelling. She dedicated her whole life to help the poor, homeless, parent-less and rejects of society. Babies were even brought to her that would die soon. When this happened, Mother Teresa insisted that the sisters hold them in their last moments and hours so that they wouldn’t die without experiencing love.
So with a compassionate heart like hers, you can imagine her stance. Eric Metaxas wrote: “Mother Teresa worked to end abortion by writing to clinics, police stations, and hospitals. The sisters made posters with this message, and young mothers began showing up day and night with babies they could not afford to keep. Childless couples were delighted to adopt many of these “unwanted” babies.” Mother Teresa even told President Bill Clinton (at the time) to “stop killing” these children, to “give them to her.”
She even used biblical reasoning against the argument that babies aren’t a life yet until they reach a certain stage in the mom’s pregnancy. In Luke, Elizabeth had just gotten pregnant and Mary had been told she was going to be with child. Luke 1:41 says, “When Elizabeth heard Mary’s greeting, the baby leaped in her womb, and Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit.” Her argument is that the baby wouldn’t have leaped in Elizabeth’s womb with Mary’s greeting unless it was indeed alive.
I am all for people having freedom of choice and individual liberties. What I am not for and never will be for is murdering babies. Why is it illegal to kill your kid if you don’t want him or her anymore? Why is it illegal to kill your animal if you don’t want it anymore? Murder is a crime so why is it not a crime to murder babies? Who is fighting for their right to live?
Seriously… wake up. The Bible makes it very clear to NOT kill unless you’re defending yourself. If you call yourself a Christ follower, meaning you believe in Jesus and the Bible, how can you even think of being okay with pro-choice?
I have heard so many girls who have had an abortion say that they regret it to this day. Why is that? Because they had an instant connection with their child growing inside of them. Of course, there is healing and forgiveness for those who have already had an abortion. But this option shouldn’t be an option let alone a choice you make as a christian. It doesn’t matter if it’s legal or not.
If you don’t know what to choose and you’re a christian, I urge you to research it in the Bible for yourself. Pray for God to give you wisdom and discernment with this. He will give you understanding if you simply ask. Deep down in your heart, you already know that abortion is wrong.
Don’t ignore the truth and choose to speak up for the lives of unborn babies. If you don’t, who will? Jesus is no longer here but He left His Holy Spirit inside of us to continue carrying out His good works. Protecting the innocent is one of them. We will stand before the Lord one day and give an account for our lives. I don’t want the Lord to ask me, “why did you ignore My sons and daughters crying out for help? Why did you do nothing when I called you to be My hands and feet?”
If you don’t protect babies, who will?
A Prayer For You
Lord Jesus, thank You for Your love and sweet mercy. Please give me wisdom and discernment with important issues that matter to You. Reveal to me scriptures that reveal Your irrefutable truth. Show me what I can do to help those who are in need. You are love Lord. Let others see You and Your love through me. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Beautiful, heartfelt post, Heather. I’ve never wavered from my pro~life stance, but having 2 adopted grandsons has taken it to a whole new level. The Creator is the giver of life and determines the course of our days. This is not our choice to make!
Amen, you said it perfectly! The closer I have grown in the Lord, the softer my heart has grown to the innocent and hurting. Thank you for sharing Karlene and if you don’t know, I love your blog!
Your comment means so much! It is always encouraging to know our writing/blogging & investment is speaking to someone. You are loved, Heather, and I think I’ve said it before, but your generation needs young women willing to share the Truth. Keep doing what you’re doing.
Thank you Karlene! You keep up the good work too with your writing!
I believe all life is valuable. So I’m for Life.
