In a world where people are out for themselves, it’s so rare to find people truly helping others succeed. Unfortunately, people “help” others when it benefits them to do so. So what about you? Are you helping others succeed because you want that for them?

I recently heard Dr. Ben Carson speak on the Candace Owens Show and he said something at the end that really stirred me up. He said, “What can you do as an individual, in your sphere of influence, to create success for other people? Isn’t that what it’s all about?”

If you don’t know, Dr. Ben Carson started out in life living in poverty and making poor grades. But through it all, he had a God fearing mother who taught him that he is better than his poor grades. He’s better than the cruel opinions of others about him.

His Mom helped him turn his life around at a young age, all while being a single Mom working multiple jobs. She could’ve said I’m too tired to help you. She could’ve said you’ll never amount to anything like his peers and teachers thought.

Instead, she set up her kids on a path to success. It started with a deep faith in God and words of encouragement. Then the tough love of having her kids read books instead of watch TV. This forever changed the course of their lives.

Maybe you had someone like this in your life who cheered you on. Or maybe you never did that but wished you had. Either way, my hope is that you find success in life and help others do the same.

Who are you mentoring and influencing?

I challenge you to begin now if you haven’t already. It doesn’t matter if it’s helping one person or one million. You’re influence can greatly shape the futures of others for the better if you take the time.

A Prayer For You

Lord Jesus, thank You for the opportunities that I sometimes take for granted. Thank You for all the many blessings in my life. Show me how to point others to You and guide them to a path of success. In Jesus’ name I pray, amen.

Stay hopeful!
