As most of you know I am newly married and have been experimenting in the kitchen! Poor Garrett, my sweet husband. I love to cook but haven’t had much experience. My cooking partner, Google has been helping me along with my family’s advice. I like to find recipes but modify and experiment with it myself.

My latest experiment happened last night and what do you know, it actually turned out pretty good! I had bought a little over a pound of boneless country style pork ribs (what a mouth full). I’ve never cooked this before so I googled how long to cook it. I didn’t want to wait an hour at 8 pm last night as most suggestions said to. My Mother-in-law who I call, gave me some advice to brown the meat first then put it in the oven at 350-375 degrees. Thank you to her!

Juicy Country Style Pork Ribs

Serves 2, takes approximately 30 minutes to make. Serve with two sides of your choice.

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb of Country Style Pork Ribs
  • Sweet Baby Ray’s BBQ sauce
  • Seasoning salt
  • Worcestershire sauce
  • Vegetable or olive 0il

Steps to Success:

  • Thaw the meat
  • Using a cast iron or regular skillet, add enough oil to coat the bottom, turn the burner on medium and wait until the oil starts simmering. I also added some Worcestershire sauce on top of the oil to give the pork more flavor, about 10 drops.
  • Allow 10 minutes for the oven to preheat at 350 or 375 degrees.
  • Place the meat on the skillet with tongs and add seasoning salt. (Watch out for splattering oil!) Cook for 5 min at a time on all four sides adding seasoning as desired. Total skillet time will be 20 min, cooking 5 min on each side. Check the middle of the meat to ensure there is no red color.
  • On a non-stick baking sheet, add the strips of meat. Drizzle the Sweet Baby Ray’s BBQ (or BBQ sauce of your choice) over the meat. Bake at 350 degrees for 8 minutes. Serve!

While making the meat, I also made macaroni and potatoes on the side. You can serve with salad or other sides of your choice! This dish was juicy and full of flavor! It was also husband approved! The picture below was taken after Garrett dug into the food! He ate the leftovers today for lunch and he said it’s still just as good! Enjoy and let me know if you have any suggestions!
