Are you feeling like you’re overwhelmed and like so you’re so over this? Maybe life hasn’t turned out how you wanted. Whatever it is that’s overwhelming you, I want to tell you that you aren’t alone and there is hope!
Sometimes we get to a place where we’ve done everything we can do. When we get to that point and we’re feeling exhausted and hopeless, God is not always where we go first. We go vent to friends and family first. We look to other things to relax us. All the while, God is right there but we don’t reach out to Him for help.
Our first answer should be to lay it down at the feet of Jesus. What does this mean? Go to the Lord with your feelings and desires. Tell Him what’s on your mind. Ask for strength, peace, wisdom, provision, a miracle, or whatever else you might need. He will be faithful to answer you in your time of need.
“Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.” Matthew 7:7-8
God has many names in the Bible that give us insight to who He is. These will shed light on why we go to Him for help. Here are just a handful to remind you who God is.
He is… Jehovah Jireh – our provider.
He is… Jehovah Shalom – our peace.
He is… Jehovah Rapha – our healer.
He is… Jehovah Nissi – our banner of protection and deliverance.
He is… Immanuel – with us.
“Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High
will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.”
Psalm 91:1
Remember these things when you come against obstacles. Don’t give up hope no matter what comes your way. Stay strong and be encouraged. God is right there with you and is not taken by surprise. Know that in all things we are more than conquerors. These aren’t just empty words to make you feel good. It’s the truth. Try applying it to your life and watch God work.
“In all these things we are more than conquerors
through Him who loved us.”
Romans 8:37
A Prayer For You
Lord Jesus, You are Lord over ALL. There’s nothing You can’t do. Forgive me for doubting You in my current situations. Please guide me and give me the strength to conquer whatever comes my way. I need You. In Your mighty name I pray, amen.
