I am not what you call the most patient person in the world. Maybe you can relate? I like to get things done quickly instead of waiting around. I know that God has called all of us to be patient and wait for His perfect timing but honestly, it’s frustrating at times.
I know firsthand if we try to force our way into something, it turns out messy and complicated. When we wait for God’s best, He delivers better than we thought. It’s funny how that works.
Consider it all joy, my brethren, when you encounter various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance. And let endurance have its perfect result, so that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing. James 1:2-4
I feel the call of God on my life so strongly. The calling grows stronger in my heart day by day. I am unsure of what He wants me to do but I am willing. It is difficult to feel such a strong calling on my life to help others and do His will but not know exactly “it” is.
Maybe my calling is writing, maybe it’s starting an outreach, or maybe it’s working a normal 8-5 job but ministering to others in the process. I was recently laid off from my job due to massive layoffs in the oil & gas industry. I am looking at this as not only a test of my faith but also an opportunity.
My entire life I have felt a deep sense of compassion for others who are hurting and have wanted to help but haven’t had specific vocational opportunities. God has had me working at specific companies for reasons I don’t know. But there is something to be said for doing God’s will where you are, even in the workplace. You can be used anywhere if you are willing.
I don’t know what is next for me in life but I am absolutely certain that God will work it out for my good. I trust God completely. I want to serve Him completely at whatever cost. So in this in-between time I will learn patience and wait for God to open the next door.
“If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you.” John 15:7
God can make a way when there is no way! You might be the underachiever without education or experience but if God wants you somewhere, you will get there. It doesn’t matter the competition or obstacles you face. With God nothing is impossible!
A Prayer for You
Lord, please be with those who are facing uncertain times in their life right now. I pray that you would strengthen them and give them peace. Guide their steps as they place their trust in You. We know that nothing is impossible for You. You can turn any mess into something for our good. In Your Son Jesus’ name, amen!
