I had the urge to sit outside and indulge my soul by reading in Psalms this morning. I couldn’t help but remember that at times when I was growing up, I would wake up to find my Dad sipping on hot coffee and reading his Bible in the kitchen. As I’ve gotten older I find myself wanting to this very same thing more and more.

I LOVE to wake up early in the morning and refresh my mind with God’s truth while sipping on hot coffee. The weather was just perfect outside this morning. There was a cool breeze gently blowing through our backyard and birds chirping off in the distance. God’s creation is such a magnificent wonder! I love being outside in nature especially with beautiful weather!

Call me silly if you want but I relish in opening up the Bible in random places to see what God will reveal to me. Today I said a prayer asking God to speak to me before I began reading. The last couple of weeks I have been reading through Psalms and what I opened up to was actually the next chapter by happenstance. Coincidence…? I think not!

Today’s verses that captured my attention were Psalms 19:7-14. Enjoy and have a fabulous Saturday!

The law of the Lord is perfect, restoring the soul;

The testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple.

The precepts of the Lord are right, rejoicing the heart;

The commandment of the Lord is pure, enlightening the eyes.

The fear of the Lord is clean, enduring forever;

The judgments of the Lord are true; they are righteous altogether.

They are more desirable than gold, yes, than much fine gold;

Sweeter also than honey and the drippings of the honeycomb.

Moreover, by them Your servant is warned; In keeping them there is great reward.

Who can discern his errors? Acquit me of hidden faults.

Also keep back Your servant from presumptuous sins;

Let them not rule over me; Then I will be blameless,

And I shall be acquitted of great transgression.

Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart

Be acceptable in Your sight, O Lord , my rock and my Redeemer.
