Yes exactly, our sensitivity is super heightened in culture today. Obviously not everyone but the media blows it up into a problem.

For so long, the internet providers did nothing when people breached their terms with bullying and threats. I don’t think stalking and harassment should be allowed in the name of free speech, nor the kind of words that incite others to do harm. But just having obnoxious opinions? Psh. We’re too sensitive about that. We can always stop reading stuff we find offensive.

As far as what’s ethical, it’s probably best not to use people’s real names or photos without their permission. I don’t ever. That’s pretty easy. If anyone sees themselves in my fiction or poetry, well, I can’t help that. 🙂
