This new movie came out March 29th called Unplanned. It’s an rated R movie about the youngest girl to direct at Planned Parenthood, Abby Johnson. She was an activist for abortion and believed as a Christian there was nothing wrong with it. But then a life-changing experience changed her mind on abortion.
I personally have not seen this movie but have bittersweet emotions about it but am still wanting to see it. I just don’t know how much my heart can handle. Abortion is certainly a hot topic today. Even Christians disagree on abortion and it has become this gray area. We hear outspoken reasons for whether it’s wrong or right.
My heart has just gotten softer and more emotional as I’ve grown closer in my relationship with God. I try to pray daily that the Lord would open my eyes to see the world around me as He does. I know that’s why certain things make me indignant more than in years past.
I believe the Lord is a loving Father that loves His creation and all His children. I believe it breaks His heart when we are hurt. It’s no different with this topic. He loves unborn children still developing in the womb.
A while back I posted Are You Pro-Life or Pro-Choice? and I’ll just be real. I cry hearing about women wanting to kill their babies when there are so many women trying to have babies who can’t. Yes, that baby is a human being in the middle of development. Where does it stop if we kill babies in our bodies?
Will we get to the place where we kill children up to the age of five if it’s more convenient for our lives? Or will we start killing elderly people who can’t care for themselves and are a nuisance to us? I mean why not? A murder is a murder whether they are breathing life yet or not. A better question is why are we not bothered by more by taking innocent lives that can’t fend for themselves?
I have heard all kinds of excuses that it’s okay in the event that the mother’s life is threatened. That’s doesn’t even make sense because an induced emergency C-section is much quicker. I’ve also heard of attempted but failed abortions where the child survived. Now they are thriving human beings that wouldn’t have been here if the attempt to abort was successful.
There are many stories about babies who survived and brought joy to the lives of others when doctors suggested they be aborted due to different conditions. One mother explained that she knew beforehand that she would give birth to her baby that would survive only minutes. Those minutes were precious to the mother and family. They would’ve chosen to do it again if given the option because it helped them heal.
As Christians, we preach to not get an abortion but sometimes stop there without sharing resources to help them. There’s no way the Lord would want us to help save a life but then just leave the mother out to dry and fend for herself. I came across the two resources below just recently and I encourage you to share them with others if you have the opportunity.

I grew up as a teen in the 90’s, always hearing the term “a clump of cells.” Only recently, after following Christ, did I get curious about this topic again. I simply looked up different weeks in fetal development. Well, it’s not “a clump of cells” if it has a heartbeat, a face… I mean, I was shocked. I am not ashamed to say I am definitely pro-life now.
I also look forward to watching the movie.
Thanks for sharing a post about this difficult topic!

Yari, thanks for sharing that and I’m excited you made that decision to follow Christ recently! Yeah I don’t know why people make it so convoluted. If they didn’t interfere, it would develop into a human being. Simple as that in my opinion. May God bless you on your new journey with Him and thank you for your kind words! ❤
I need to watch the movie. It grieves my heart to see people rejoice for the right to murder helpless babies. God help us! Thanks for the resources.
My thoughts exactly Temi! Yes Lord help us see things as You do! God bless you ❤
