If you’re in a tough season of life where everything seems to be going to horribly wrong, hang in there. Life is crazy and it might be stress you are dealing with, grief from a tragedy, relationship drama, money problems, an illness, or a number of things. In the meantime, don’t let others or your circumstances dictate your well-being.
Micah 7:8 says “though I have fallen, I will rise.”
The best thing you can do is to remain. By that I mean remain faithful, remain thankful, remain grateful, remain joyous, remain prayerful. Don’t shrink back in the face of adversity. You were made to be more than a conqueror. You were made to carry out God’s will and bring all glory and honor to Him. God wants you to enjoy life and be content. I’m not talking about settling for less than God’s best but that’s for another time. It all starts between your ears with your thought life and attitude.
“I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. I can do all this through Him who gives me strength.” Philippians 4:12-13
You know, prayer and digging into the Word are great ways to find encouragement. By prayer I mean tell God your frustrations, hurts, and desires. Sometimes we forget it can be as simple as venting to the Lord (like He is your best friend because He should be) and asking Him to help you.
The Bible is full of encouraging scriptures. If you don’t know where to find encouragement in the Word, start in the book of Psalms. It has lots of venting moments that we call all relate to filled with drama, complaints, frustrations, anger, etc. along with peace, joy, love, comfort, praise, and more. And taking it a step further, read it out loud instead of just to yourself. Romans 10:17 says “faith comes from hearing, and hearing by the Word of Christ”.
“Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.” Matthew 11:28-30
I don’t know about you but music really speaks to me. At different times in my life, I know that God has used certain songs to really minister to my soul and help give me just enough strength to keep going. I don’t know if you’ve read my “Broken Hallelujah” post I shared awhile back but that was one of the hardest times of my life. And it just reaffirmed that God really cared for me and was there. He helped me through it when I cried out to Him.
The song below really helped me check to see if my heart was in the right place and gave me motivation through some tough times. It isn’t easy to keep up a positive attitude when all hell is breaking loose. I totally understand. But it really is up to you if you’ll get bitter or better.
With each step you take reaffirming your faith in the Lord, you are rising above your circumstances. Know that God can use what the devil meant for harm and turn it into your good. As always, if you have any questions or prayer requests, please let me know. I would love to join you in prayer!

Lord Jesus thank You for caring for me. I know that my pain and heartache doesn’t go unnoticed by You. You know all of my circumstances so please guide me and help me through them. I know I can do all things through You who give me strength. In Jesus’ name, amen.
