Who do I want to be?
I want to be a contributing member of society. I don’t want to hide away in fear of others or fear of making a mistake. Life is messy and hard plus sometimes downright scary if you let it, but we can’t let that hold us back from our dreams. I want to help my girls be the best versions of themselves but that means I have to look in the mirror first. I have to be the woman and mom who they can be proud of. Will I fail at times? I’m sure I will but that can’t keep me from getting up again, brushing my hair, putting on makeup and doing the thing we call life all over again.
Every day is a new opportunity to make better choices than the day before. To become who God is calling us to be. To step out of our comfort zones by setting healthy boundaries. We mustn’t forget that we’re a person too with needs and have to first love and take care of ourselves before we can help others. I can love unconditionally because Christ first loved me. I can be patient with my kids, showing them tenderness and care just as the Holy Spirit does when He corrects me. He isn’t mean or harsh, he’s a gentleman and doesn’t force anything on us thank God. God wasn’t in the earthquake, He wasn’t in the fire or rushing wind. He came like a whisper.
A Prayer For You
Thank You Lord for Your grace as tender mercies that are new every morning. Thank You that we get a fresh start not just with a new year but every day that we wake up with air in our lungs. Praise You Lord that we were fearfully and wonderfully made in Your image and are oh so precious to You! Give us all hearts that are open to seeing You and hearing from You and give us the bravery to take action in becoming all that we can for Your glory. In Jesus name, amen.
