I just wanted to remind you of something today, you are a light! But what does that mean? This world is full of darkness and bad things but we are a light. A city set on a hill for others to look to and wonder why we’re doing okay when others typically fall apart.
We have the hope of Christ and we should be striving to renew our minds day by day with the Word (Bible). When I lost my dad, multiple people asked how I was able to be so strong. I explained that it was only because the Lord helped me through it bringing me peace and strength to make it through. It was still difficult and very painful but God helped me make it through the unimaginable.
The truth is no one has it together. When we fall apart and go to God, that is when He makes us strong and gives us that peace to get through things. That’s what being a light is. This is what separates us from others who don’t have lasting joy, eternal hope, and peace in the midst of chaos.
This world is also full of evil and selfish people because that’s who we are naturally as human beings without God. So when we’re kind and don’t miss opportunities to show small acts of kindness towards others, we’re being the light of Christ as well.
“Live clean, innocent lives as children of God, shining like bright lights in a world full of crooked and perverse people.”
Like the old gospel nursery rhyme, This Little Light of Mine says: “don’t let satan blow it out, I’m gonna let it shine”. The enemy wants nothing more than to turn your potential victory into a tragedy. He wants to blow your light out in any way he can, even with small annoyances to get you distracted. But don’t let your candle flicker. Keep your light shining bright!
“In the same way, let your good deeds shine out for all to see, so that everyone will praise your heavenly Father.” Matthew 5:16
