When is Enough, Enough?

It seems there’s a stirring going on waking up people to the need of Jesus. With everything going on though, when will Christians realize enough is enough and start speaking up for what’s right?Christian Americans, where you at? I’ve found myself and see others becoming complacent in their faith.

“I know all the things you do, that you are neither hot nor cold. I wish that you were one or the other! But since you are like lukewarm water, neither hot nor cold, I will spit you out of my mouth!” – Jesus

Revelation 3:15‭-‬16

A pastor at our church had a fantastic point… “the opposite of love is not hate, it’s indifference.” I’ve felt that we have been so consumed with technology, media, and our comfortable lives that we become distracted and indifferent towards the things of God. Instead of our heart breaking for what breaks God’s heart, we’re numb.

We don’t even see others hurting anymore, we’re too consumed with our own life and busyness. We can’t even look up and make eye contact with the person at the grocery store so we go to the self-checkout lane (unless you’re at Walmart where they’ve stopped having cashiers at some locations).

Jesus experienced interruptions to His missions but He didn’t see them that way…

What seems like an inconvenience or mess up to our plans may very well be a God appointment when we have our eyes and ears open to the world around us. We must remember that we once were lost and hurting and desperately needing answers.

Unfortunately it seems we live in isolation to the world around us but the Lord is saying REMEMBER your first love. Remember what it’s like being on fire for God and sharing the good news out of excitement and hungering for more of Jesus. We have to work to stay on fire for the Lord and not give up on doing good!

“Let us not lose heart in doing good, for in due time we will reap if we do not grow weary.”

Galatians 6:9

Are we Burying Our Heads in the Sand?

As Christians, the Lord says “do not fear“, “be strong and courageous“, “seek justice”, “help the oppressed“, “speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves”, “speak up for the poor and helpless, and see that they get justice” multiple times in the Bible. Are we honestly being courageous when we are silenced into submission? Are we being bold when we aren’t speaking up for those who can’t speak for themselves and need justice?

We can’t bury our heads in the sand anymore as much as we would like to because the truth is coming out more and more against God’s design and His people. We can’t deny it or pretend it doesn’t exist, because injustice and evil are staring us in the face everywhere we turn. It’s on commercials, it’s publicized on the grammys, on social media, and all over the news.

We must make a decision of what we’re going to do… We can’t plead the 5th any longer, being afraid of making others uncomfortable or claiming we have incompetence in a matter. We can’t afford to stay out of politics any more.

When you have a man like James Robison, TBN co-host of LifeToday with his wife for almost 30 years, feeling the need to create a news outlet, you know something is wrong in the media today. Stream.org is designed to give people “understanding of the times” so freedom will not “perish for lack of the knowledge” of truth that transforms hearts and minds.

I was doing some digging and found out recently that Robison was almost aborted by his single working mom after being raped. For some reason, she didn’t go through with it even after her trauma. That takes a lot of bravery.

It also proves that God can bring up great men and women even through evil acts like rape. That isn’t a popular opinion right now though. Anyways, Robison has quite a ministry of over 50 years now and has some thoughts on the current state of our country below…

“Our national leadership is not just RUNNING our country but RUINING our country and destroying the future of freedom and the blessings only freedom offers.” James Robison

Whether you’re a Democrat, Republican, or Independent, the fact still remains that we are currently living in a society where evil is called good and good is called evil. Isaiah, a respected prophet in the Bible, gives a warning to believers who do this… “Woe to those who call evil good and good evil”.

If we’re called to be a light in a dark, evil world ruled by the powers of darkness, we can’t be a light when ours is barely flickering and holding on. We must be bold and courageous and speak up for those who can’t speak for themselves. We must remember we don’t live for the approval of people, but the approval of God alone.

“Am I now trying to win the approval of human beings, or of God? Or am I trying to please people? If I were still trying to please people, I would not be a servant of Christ.” Galatians 1:10

Is Cancel Culture a Myth?

Now is NOT the time to go along with the cancel culture and mass majority of the crowd. We’ve been taught all our little Christian lives to not go along with the crowd and live to please others yet here we are…

The truth is, we can’t make everyone happy and not everyone will understand, especially those who don’t follow the Bible and aren’t led by the Holy Spirit, who have spiritual blindness. We aren’t meant to make everyone happy but we are meant to live to be pleasing to Christ alone.

Conspiracy theories have always been the butt of jokes but I’m sad to say these “conspiracy theories” are actually happening. I can’t believe I’m even talking like this on here and 10 years ago, I would’ve said no way is any of this true but sadly, here we are…

Y’all don’t believe Christian persecution can be a real thing here in America but it’s happening in countries like China, Canada, and Europe already. Cancel culture is targeting us as Christians as we speak, taking down information and accounts on a discriminatory basis on Twitter, YouTube, Facebook, Cable companies, cell phone companies, etc. claiming that what these people or companies are saying is dangerous to society.

The Benham brothers were targeted recently and taken off of HGTV. They have been told not to come to main events by big businesses even when they had contracts in place to speak. Kirk Cameron had them on his TBN Takeaways show where they discussed The Enemy Using Cancel Culture. Check it out for yourselves if you haven’t seen it.

“There are spiritual forces of darkness out there that are empowering a very mob mentality in mainstream media and even many people in the church. What we (Christians) are doing is running away. Now is not a time to be a lamb led to the slaughter, right, it is a time where the lion of Judah needs to speak.” David Benham

Benham went on to say that “Cancel culture is a spiritual weapon being used by mainstream media, university elites, big tech, big business, the elites that want to control the world… targets anyone who would stand for truth… and 100% targeting anyone who would live out the judeo Christian worldview.”

It’s not just Christians being canceled but any one who has a differing opinion. Restaurants, classic toys, history in school, conservative voices, are all being targeted as well. I may sound like a broken cliché record but… if we don’t know history, evil history and all the harm that came with it, will repeat itself.

China and North Korea cancel anyone who disagrees with them. Their leadership is totally against free speech, Christian churches, and they censor and arrest those who go against what they deem the right way. They’re told how to run their household, what to think, what to say, and when they can do things.

When our freedoms are being stripped and people are being silenced into submission, that isn’t freedom. Meaning, no we aren’t too far off from religious persecution when other freedoms like free speech and freedom of opinion are being stripped as we speak “for the greater good”.

The Bottom Line

Look, I’m not perfect and I don’t have all the answers but I know who does. I know the Lord will guide us and give us wisdom in everything including politics and fighting for justice when we ask for it.

I know that we need to come with humble hearts before the Lord Almighty and get real with ourselves and Him if we want His presence and guidance in our lives. It’s a daily choice to strive after Him and do His will. We need to come back to our first love, not ourselves but to God.

In part 2 next week, we’ll talk about if persecution is already here in the US. We’ll discuss Christians with no backbone and following Jesus’ example in these matters.

A Prayer for All Of Us

“Create in me a clean heart, O God. Renew a loyal spirit within me. Do not banish me from Your presence, and don’t take Your Holy Spirit from me. Restore to me the joy of Your salvation, and make me willing to obey You.”

Psalms 51:10‭-‬12

We Need a Daily Commitment to Prayer for Our Nation!

“Then if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sins and restore their land.”

2 Chronicles 7:14
