Today I was racking my brain about changing my blog name and peeked out my back window for inspiration. I saw this beautiful, vibrant rose blooming out of dead twigs. I was so worried that this rosebush was not going to make it through the winter season but as you can see, hope was not lost!

You may feel like my rosebush did this past winter – like the life has been sucked right out of you. There might be a lot of scars and broken pieces in the way right now but there’s still hope. You have a rosebud deep down inside you with the potential to bloom into something wonderful.

It doesn’t matter how hopeless you feel, there’s still a beautiful rose inside of you. God wants to restore you back to joy. To bring hope in the midst of our hopelessness and peace in the midst of your crazy. Let God begin to nurture you back to health with His promises!

You are cherished.

You are loved.

You are beautifully and wonderfully made.

You are redeemed.

You are stronger than you think.

Reflection

What do you have in your life that’s hindering you from blooming? It might be your attitude, fear, lack of direction, a bad habit, your past, grief, dissatisfaction, etc. You have to recognize what is stealing your peace and then replace that with God’s truth about who you are and your future. Life is too short to live unhappily!

A Prayer For You

Lord Jesus, I need You to nourish the broken pieces of my life back to health. Instead of looking at my past or current situation, I fix my eyes on You. You are where my help comes from. Please restore and refresh my soul. In Jesus’ name, amen.

The LORD is my shepherd,
I shall not want.

He makes me lie down in green pastures;
He leads me beside quiet waters.

He restores my soul;
He guides me in the paths of righteousness
For His name’s sake.

Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
I fear no evil, for You are with me;
Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.

You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies;
You have anointed my head with oil;
My cup overflows.

Surely goodness and lovingkindness will follow me all the days of my life,
And I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever.
