Last week we spoke about How to Fight Back When The Enemy Attacks. This week I wanted to share with you more steps to walking in God’s authority in your own life. If you want to see God’s blessings and provision in your life also, stick with me because this will apply also.

We spoke about resisting the enemy, by fighting back with the Word of God. If we want to take our faith to the next level we must do 2 things. Obey God’s instructions, and then walk in authority.

We all have this internal voice that shows us right from wrong. It corrects us and shows us what we need to change. This internal voice is God at work. He is using the Holy Spirit that we received when we were saved to instruct us while on earth and apart from Him until we are reunited in Heaven.

God doesn’t reveal things we need to work on and change because He’s mean, strict, and boring. He sees everything that we cannot see. He can foresee the future and know what plan will work out best. That’s why we have to trust His plan because He is all-knowing.

I hate to break it to you but God doesn’t hear the prayers of an unrighteous person. If you have needs, want answers, peace, and provision, He won’t answer you if you ignored what He already told you to do.

“For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous and His ears are attentive to their prayer, but the face of the Lord is against those who do evil.” 1 Peter 3:12 NIV

Once we trust His plan, we put our faith into action by obeying that voice inside of us. Maybe it’s not best to spend time with this person and you’ve been feeling uneasy about it. It could be that you know you need to share an encouraging word with someone but you’re scared to.

Friends, we cannot ignore those promptings. If we do, we will miss out on God’s best for our lives. We will walk in authority and in God’s favor when we quit ignoring what He’s told us to do.

“Blessed rather are those who hear the word of God and obey it.” Luke 11:28

Most likely there are 2 reasons you continue to ignore what you know you should do. You’re either terrified or you don’t want to address the problem and have to change.

To the ones who are afraid. God will give you strength and will make up for what we lack when we take steps of obedient, courageous faith. It’s time to be brave and face your fear head-on. You can do all things through Christ who gives you strength so quit making excuses and do it!

To the ones who don’t want to change or do the hard thing. Life is too short to wait around and think you can change or do the right thing later. It’s so not worth it in the end, to look back and see all the blessings and good life you could’ve lived but had no clue. Well, I’m clueing you in now because life will always be more fulfilling when you’re walking in God’s favor.

Reflection

What is that one thing you know you should be doing but aren’t? Is it out of fear or rebellion? Start walking in God’s authority and favor by doing what you know God has put on your heart. It’s not easy but it will be worth it, always.

A Prayer For You

Lord Jesus, thank You for Your presence and guidance in my life. You have all power and authority, I know I have it too through Your Holy Spirit.
Show me how to walk in Your authority as I take bold steps of obedience. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Stay hopeful!
